The South Dakota Department of Tourism awarded Rush Mountain Adventure Park the 2020 Peter Norbeck Excellence in Tourism Innovation Award. According to SD Tourism, Rush Mountain has been a finalist every year since the award’s inception in 2013. The upgrades to the park - and the park’s continual work to improve the visitor experience year after year - capture the very essence of this award. On the way home from a business trip this past month I received a text from a guy named Bryson Roatch. You probably have never heard of Bryson, but if you are a fan of hard rock you may have heard of the group he represents, Asking Alexandria. It seems the band was on tour with Shinedown and Godsmack. Dennis Daugaard and the South Dakota Department of Tourism honored Rush Mountain Adventure Park, Home of Rushmore Cave, for exemplary customer service at the recent Governor’s Conference on Tourism.  The George S. Mickelson Great Service Award was presented to Rush Mountain Adventure Park for exceeding visitors’ expectations in customer service. The Rush Mountain crew was in full force at this year's Governor's Tourism Conference in Pierre as it unveiled the new Rushmore Mountain Coaster project and also it's new brand, Rush Mountain Adventure Park.
